Paige Cogdall, the general chairman of Angel Charity for Children and Adriana Rincon provided a brand overview of this organization which started in 1983 as a charity for children. Over the ensuing years they have funded 95 agencies, raised 27 million dollars and served greater than one million children all in Pima county.
Their funding mechanism is extensively detailed in order to assure donors as to how their money is being used. Application for grants are solicited from all nonprofit organizations in Pima County and a detailed review and vetting process of a grant proposal is conducted with final approval by a 30 person group of the 150 members of the Angel Charity. All members of the charity are donors as well.
This year their major projects are grants to TRAK, an organization that performs rehabilitation with children with disabilities and those at risk, and to the Children’s Clinic for Rehabilitative Services.
Major events sponsored by Angel Charity include the annual Angel Ball held in December, a raffle event, a capital campaign and donor underwriting. The ongoing goal is to improve the lives of children in Pima County.
