Larry again reminded everyone of the District 5495 Peace Conference in Peoria on September 20th and the District Leadership Conference on the 21st at the Habitat for Humanity office, 3501 N. Mountain Avenue.
Foundation Day is November 9th. Save the date.
The Ride to End Polio at the El Tour de Tucson is November 23rd.
The District Conference Cruise is coming up at the end of October.

The 4-Way Test contest is set for April 18th.
District Governor Ellie Patterson will be visiting our club on October 9th. The board meeting will be the evening before on the 8th.
Joe Mahon is still collecting school supplies and next week’s meeting will be the last day to donate.
President-elect Jeff Shields announced that the raffle drawing will be April 8th. It is hoped that the tickets will be ready to sell before Christmas.
The October 2nd meeting will be a social but no details are available yet.
Fred Sowerby relayed a message from the La Paloma management that could we please vacate the meeting room as soon as possible in order to prepare it for the next use.
Bill Perkins from the Scholastic Action Shooting Program spoke about the organization for youth from 4th grade through high school.The sport of shooting does not distinguish between physical size and strength so it offers a level playing field across ages and genders.The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation is the governing body for both the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) and the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).Participants in the program can go on to compete in the Olympics and the Paralympics.The training center for both is in Colorado Springs.
Bill took his team called “Straight Shooters” to compete in the national championships in Ohio in July for 9 days and came in second after the team from Wisconsin. With 1,650 entries, it’s the largest in the world.Qualifications to participate include high academic standards, athlete and parental consent, medical consent and a signed contract for good behavior.
